The Prosecutor's Office of Berat has summoned the former Minister of the Interior, Bledi Çuçi, for the scandal at the Police Mechanical Combine, after he was exposed to wiretapping.

Çuçi is expected to testify in the prosecution on July 15, as a person who knows about the incident.

The Prosecutor's Office of Berat has conversations between the director of Kombinat, Erjon Zylyftari, who is the leader of the SP in Poliçan, and the former minister.

The Prosecutor's Office of Berat has registered the case as "abuse of duty" and may pass it on to the Special Prosecutor's Office.

We remind you that 6 former employees of the administration of the Mechanical Combine in Poliçan (Weapons Factory), among them the director of this Combine, Erjon Zylyftari, are under investigation by the Berat District Prosecutor's Office.

The other persons under investigation are the former head of finance, two former storekeepers, the former dispatcher and the former secretary.

These persons are suspected to have sold over 50 tons of brass and profited large sums of money during the period 2017-2020.

The value of the brass sold at market prices today reaches the figure of 20 million lek, with which part of the salaries of 100 former factory workers could have been paid./ CNA
