US President Donald Trump and Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelensky are expected to attend the same working session of the G7 summit in France on Tuesday.
According to a senior US official, the two leaders may hold an informal meeting on the sidelines of the summit, although a formal bilateral meeting is not planned.
After the summit, Trump will attend an official dinner at the Palace of Versailles with French President Emmanuel Macron, as part of the celebration of the 250th anniversary of US independence and Franco-American friendship.
During his stay in France, Trump will also hold bilateral meetings with the leaders of Qatar, the United Arab Emirates, Egypt and India.
At the center of the summit's discussions is expected to be the acceleration of negotiations for an agreement between the US and Iran to end the conflict in the Middle East.
The agenda could also include cooperation between France and Britain on mine clearance operations in the Strait of Hormuz. According to the White House, Trump will also discuss artificial intelligence, migration, innovation and energy with his G7 partners. /CNA
