The Minister of Defense, Niko Peleshi, has given details on the situation of the fires in the last 24 hours.

So far, 10 fires have been extinguished and the action on Mount Shpirag is nearing completion.

100 members of the Armed Forces, 4 vehicles and the Cougar helicopter were engaged in extinguishing the fires.

Also under control is the fire in the village of Rrilë, administrative unit Shënkoll in the municipality of Lezhë, in the urban waste dump.

 The fire has been extinguished and the situation is being monitored as debris may continue to burn internally without appearing on the surface.

"As a result of the continuous work of the civil emergency forces, assisted by the Armed Forces as well as under the coordination of the Civil Defense Agency, 10 fires have been extinguished throughout the country during the last 24 hours.
