How the state can help and save lives in cooperation with the private sector

Genc Fuga, a well-known actor, one of the people of the stage and screen had a health problem which was made public by his wife Enerjeta Fuga and there was an immediate public reaction.

A stroke that Genci had suffered forced him to be hospitalized urgently at the American Hospital, which is the only place that offered this type of service.

His wife called for everyone to help her even a little.

Then, a public fundraiser was held and immediately the money was collected went to about 50 thousand euros in donations given in less than 24 hours by the Albanians.

On the other hand, the hospital itself had put him directly into surgery and had provided service immediately.

According to the data coming from the doctors, Genc Fuga has been saved, he is in a better state of health.

This case also gives us a lesson to understand what happened and how a problem can be solved by using Genci's health case positively.

Because he was a public man, everyone found out what had happened, the payments that were due, the news broke quickly and things like that.

The state did not offer that kind of service for the problem of the illness he had, or the stroke that Genci had suffered, and he was taken to a private hospital.

The private hospital, as we mentioned, provided the service. The emergency did not have any kind of obstacle to save his life, so there was no issue of payments from the hospital.

But it shows us how more lives can be saved.

Since the state does not provide this service, why not subsidize it to the private sector, not only in this case but also in other specific problems that our hospitals do not have.

So why should the state invest 3 or 4 million euros to create such a cell, i.e. a unit for specific intervention as was the case of the actor, but such cases are few in Albania due to the small number of the population, 20 cases per year which cost from 2 or 3 thousand euros to a maximum of 20 thousand euros. the state can subsidize them.

As is the case with dialysis. No one can accuse and say a bad word about dialysis service anymore.

A few years ago, it was problematic. People went to Tirana or were forced to go to Ohrid.

Today it is widespread throughout Albania, the service is provided for the sick. The state subsidizes the private sector.

The service is perfect.

This should probably happen for many cases such as the specifics of the actor Genc Fuga, so the government does not have to invest millions of euros to set up a unit when it is set up, the service is ready.

Then the state can subsidize it, because it is not the question of the investment itself by the government, which may not have a problem, but the maintenance, experience and others.

While everything is ready, there is no reason why this should not be done by the private sector and the state subsidizes it, as this would solve a problem immediately because to solve the unit or make the investment, projects, tenders, years of investment and others will be needed like these.

Whereas with the transfer of the service to the private sector, it would be an emergency solution for those 10 or 30 cases that may be per year in Albania, but there would be 10 or 30 lives saved immediately by a private service that can be easily subsidized by the state and this would be an act to be greeted later by the Ministry of Health or the Albanian government, as is the case with dialysis or other services that are offered by the private sector and subsidized by the state./CNA.al
