The teacher Gjeto Vocaj has passed away at the age of 86, who was sentenced to 7 years in prison by the Communist regime of Enver Hoxha for the charge of "agitation and propaganda" and his family was exiled. Gjeto Vocaj is known as the teacher who was punished because he discovered a genius in mathematics among his students, at the school where he practiced his profession in Dukagjin. The news of the passing away of the well-known teacher was announced by the Association of Former Political Victims, Shkodër, through a tribute letter distributed to the media.

Gjeto Vocaj, the son of an anti-communist nationalist family, lived in Mirdita in
1939. While he was walking hand in hand with his grandfather in the meadow in front of the house, an
automatic rifle rang in his ears and suddenly the grandfather fell to the ground and
died...
It was the first confrontation of a five-year-old child with crime, with evil and horror,
that he, his family, but our the Albanian people would try on their backs for half
a century.
He grew up in poverty with the hardships of life, experienced by the declassified strata as a result of the
class war under the communist criminal dictatorship.
On the occasion of his father's employment in the district of Shkodra, Gjeto had the opportunity to
be educated in the secondary pedagogical school and for the needs of education at that time he was
appointed a teacher in the deep areas of Dukagjin.
(We remember that it was the years after the death of Stalin's father, when Khrushchev was
eliminating one by one the Stalinist leaders of the communist countries of
Eastern Europe, and for this reason the birbu of Gjirokastra softened the class war)
Love for the profession and for orphaned children, but very The awakenings of Dukagjin
gave teacher Gheto a new impulse for life. Për me e hekë qafepër kërkesën e tij në lidhje me apartamentin e internuen në zonën e Komanit, pa të
drejtë takimi me familjarët e tij që vazhdojshin internimin në nji zonë tjeter. Mbas shumë kërkesash e përpjekjesh, vetem mbas nji vjeti, mbrriti u bashkue më familjen e tij në nji fshat në zonën e Komanit. Pak para vjetit 1990 u lejue u kthye në Shkodër, por mbeti pa strehim dhe punoi si punëtor krahu.
Mbas vetëshembjes se diktaturës komuniste, familja e Gjeto Vocaj gjeti përkrahje
prej pushtetit vendor, (Bashkisë), punë përsëri në sektorin e arsimit dhe strehim për
familje. Por nuk paska qenë e thanë që hallet e kryqet e familjes së Gjeto Vocaj të
kishin fund, gjama e madhe i mbuloi në vjetin 1997, kur djali i tij, Edi në moshën 28-
vjeçare hupi jeten si rezultat i vrasjes prej njanit prej vjedhësve të makinës së tij.
Gjeto Vocaj asht shembull i qytetarit model; me kontribut për kulturën dhe
demokracinë e re shqiptare dhe pjestar aktiv pranë Shoqatës së ish të Përndjekunve
Poltik Shkodër.
Kishte kulturë të gjanë dhe vizion europian, zotnonte dy gjuhë të hueja, lexonte
shumë, kishte pasion pikturën, tregoi aftësi të veçantë në shkrimin e shumë
artikujve në gazetat kryesore shqiptare. Si shkrimtar u ba i njohun publikisht me
shkrimin e librit të jetës së tij me titull "Takim fatal me diktatorin", i cili pati shumë
sukses, u publikue tre herë, sot nuk gjindet asnji libër në librari. Libri në fjalë asht
publikue edhe në gjuhën angleze dhe po pregatitet publikimi në gjuhën italiane.
I ndjeri Gjeto Vocaj ishte njëriu me karakter të fortë, që nuk thyhet kurrë prej
fatkeqësive e vështirësive të jetës. Gjithmonë me buzë në gaz, i dashun me të tanë,
kurrë fjalë të randa për tjetrin, i sjellshëm dhe xhentil në familje e në shoqni. Shpirti i
tij nuk njifte urrejtje as për ato që ia shkatëruen jeten, për të cilët kërkonte vetem
drejtësi ligjore.
E konsiderojmë vehten me fat që u njohëm , u miqësuem dhe qëndruem së bashku
me të ndjerin Gjeto Vocaj.
The change in the life of Mr. Gjeto Vocaj is not only pain and sorrow for
his family, but for our friends and comrades, Shkodra is like ours.
