Investigations on Olsi Rama for the "Xibraka"/ SPAK file are suspended: There are no evidence or facts linking him to criminal activity

The Special Prosecutor's Office has suspended the investigations due to the lack of evidence on the connections of the convicted brother of Prime Minister Edi Rama, Olsi Rama, with the "Xibraka" file, a case reopened after the deposition of information by the Deputy of the Democratic Party, Gazment Bardhi.

In the announcement of SPAK, it is stated that there are no facts and evidence linking Olsi Rama to the criminal activity for which several people were previously convicted

"The Special Prosecutor's Office against Corruption and Organized Crime has completed the investigations for criminal proceeding No. 88 of 2024, registered after the resumption of the suspended investigations of criminal proceeding No. 335/1 of 2016. This proceeding was related to the criminal offenses of "Production and sale of narcotics", "Trafficking in narcotics", and "Perpetration of criminal offenses by structured groups criminal", provided for in the relevant articles of the Criminal Code.

Investigations resumed after the administration of an information sent by MP Gazment Bardhi, who claimed the involvement of the citizen, Ols Rama in illegal activities. In the framework of these investigations, SPAK has carried out a series of investigative actions, including cooperation with the competent authorities of Kosovo.

The investigations showed that there are no evidence or facts linking the citizen Ols Rama to the criminal activity, for which several individuals were previously convicted. Also, no other possible perpetrators of the criminal offenses in question have been identified.

In accordance with Article 326 of the Code of Criminal Procedure, on December 23, 2024, the suspension of investigations was decided for criminal proceedings no. 88 of 2024, as other perpetrators of criminal offenses have not been identified. The file has been sent to the General Directorate of the State Police to continue the efforts to identify the perpetrators", says the SPAK communiqué.
