The court session at the Court of Appeal for the "Babale" file, where the decision is expected, is postponed again. The reason for the postponement of today's session was the two young lawyers chosen by MP Salianji to represent him in court.

It is learned that lawyer Ledio Braho was replaced by lawyers Redi Ramaj and Marash Logu. Salianji himself was not in the senate, while the two lawyers asked for time to familiarize themselves with the case, as today they were provided with the power of attorney.

The "Babale" Case

The democratic deputy who is known as "Babalja", who has been wandering around the courts for 5 years, does everything to drag out this process and in the end tries to come out "washed".

Everything started in the spring of 2018, when Salianji went public with an audio recording, in which, according to him, the brother of the Minister of the Interior at that time, Fatmir Xhafaj, was involved in drug trafficking.

So, according to the audio-interception, which actually turned out to be a fabricated material, Fatmir Xhafaj's brother, Agron Xhafaj, was accused of being caught in a wiretap with a former trafficker, Albert Veliu (Babalja).

But, from the investigations it turned out that Fredi Alizoti was the person who in some cases does the voice of Agron Xhafajt (in the role). The videotaping and interview of Babale was conducted by journalist Jetmir Olldashi.

According to the investigation file, Albert Veliu, known as Babalja, was accommodated at the DP headquarters where he also gave the interview. The stimulated conversation between Albert Veliu and Fredi Alizot was recorded in January 2018. It was recorded on a recording device with a pen which Albert Veliu handed over to Ervin Salianji.

Fredi Alizoti was sentenced by the court to 2 years in prison on December 18, 2019. The court also sentenced Albert Veliu to 3 years and 6 months in prison./ CNA
