The Head of the Special Prosecution Office, Klodjan Braho, said today before the Committee for Civic Initiatives that there are only 41 cases of suspended investigative cases for 2025.

As Braho reasoned, these are old cases, for which, if there is new evidence, investigations will resume.

"Regarding the number of suspensions, the total number for 2025 is 41. So, everything includes those of organized crime. It is not a process that leads a case to suspension, but when evidence comes, prosecutors resume it. These are old cases and are separated from those that are brought for investigation," said Braho.

The head of SPAK also spoke about the assets abroad of Albanian citizens involved in criminal activities.

According to Braho, it has recently been noticed that assets are being distributed, citing cryptocurrencies as an example.

Braho also said that there is another case, with considerable wealth, for which he preferred not to provide details yet.

"Regarding assets abroad, the trend of Albanians involved in criminal activities there is to distribute them. The case of cryptocurrencies is one of them. To my knowledge, there is another case of considerable assets, but I cannot give details today," said Braho./CNA
