Hundreds of thousands of euros hidden in the suction pipe / Criminal Amnesty

Rozeta Dobi, convicted of stealing a significant amount of money from the apartment of former senior official Alda Klosi, was released this Wednesday from the women's prison in Pojska, after benefiting from a criminal amnesty.

Her name became known in early 2023, when she was arrested on charges of stealing 120 thousand euros, 30 thousand US dollars, and valuables from the apartment where she had worked as a cleaner for several years.

The investigation uncovered an even larger sum of money. During a search of Dobit's apartment, police seized 404,000 euros, 8,500 US dollars, and gold jewelry hidden in the suction tube. Also seized were 58,150 euros, 7,000 dollars, 368,000 lekë, and three vehicles, two of which were suspected of having been purchased with the proceeds of the theft.

The case received widespread public attention due to the large amounts of money seized, while investigations also extended to their source.

After serving part of her sentence, Rozeta Dobi has left the cell, benefiting from the recently approved criminal amnesty./ CNA
