Activist Edlira Çepani stated this evening that the process of integration into the European Union is not something that only happens on paper, but rather takes the country towards European standards.

In a television appearance, Çepani said that demands for transparency, accountability, and improved legislation would accelerate the completion of reforms and approximation with the EU.

According to her, the more citizens and experts are listened to, the faster membership in the European Union will be.

"This is a process that is not just on paper. Because it seems to us only as things that happen on paper. In reality, it is a process that leads the country with deeds towards EU standards and this is the most important thing. It would be good also from the protest, which is happening abroad while we speak, but also from many other elements and that we have been asking for over the years, are processes that bring us closer to the EU. So if the demands for transparency, accountability, improvement of legislation were heard more, the process of closing all reforms and approximation with the EU would be faster.
