Rama as a witness in the GJKKO/ Former prosecutor: Here's what happens if

Former prosecutor Eugen Beçi shared today legal explanations regarding the acceptance of the request by the Special Court to call Prime Minister Edi Rama as a witness, in his capacity as former mayor of Tirana, regarding the 'Partizani' file.

Asked in a television studio about the possibility of Rama's failure to appear, Beçi stated that the legal procedure in this case is very simple.

According to Beçi, the rule clearly states that in such a case, Rama or any individual, regardless of their position, is subject to coercion and force towards the GJKKO.

"We are clear about this part, the procedure is very simple. The moment the court decides that a citizen, regardless of function, is called to the role of witness, the criminal procedure code on the rules of questioning witnesses comes into play, and the rules of questioning witnesses are simple. After making the decision, the court notifies with a summons wherever it is located, and in case the person does not appear on the appointed day for non-objective reasons, the GJKKO orders his summons through the judicial police, the next stage is the mandatory escort, by force and accompanying this with a fine of 30 thousand lek", - said Beçi. /CNA
