"Rama, responsible for the high price of oil"/ Berisha: On April 17,

The leader of the Democratic Party, Sali Berisha, through a reaction on social networks, has accused Prime Minister Edi Rama of being responsible for the high price of oil and for obstructing the European integration process.

According to Berisha, the Albanian government applies the highest taxes on fuel in the world, stating that about 60% of the price of oil consists of taxes and that the state benefits about 1.1 euros per liter. He described the government's intervention with excise duty as a 'mockery', arguing that the real price reduction would only come from halving the fiscal burden.

The democratic leader also spoke about the European Union integration process, where he said that the number of countries blocking the process has increased, describing this as a signal that European integration is moving away.

DP Chairman Sali Berisha has called for civic mobilization, emphasizing that April 17 should be a day of protest against the government.

Full reaction:

First of all, dear citizens, I wish you once again a happy Easter from the bottom of my heart. May we celebrate Easter better next time.

Secondly, I am here today because he did not hesitate to deliver his deceptive monologue even on Easter. Today, Edi Rama tried again to deceive Albanians regarding the stratospheric price of oil.

The truth is, and you should know, dear citizens, that this government has imposed the absolute highest tax in the world on oil. This government taxes, like no other government on the planet, 60% of the price at which oil is sold on the market and receives 1.1 euros for every liter of oil.

The movement he claims about excise duty is a mockery. According to him, it comes into effect when oil exceeds 220 Lek per liter, while halving the fiscal burden, taxes on oil, would be the only way to reduce its price and keep it at levels affordable by Albanian citizens, by Albanian farmers, to keep it at controllable levels for other prices as well.

Secondly, again, he blamed the blocking of the IBAR report, de facto of negotiations with the European Union, due to the Balluku and AKSHI case, where the main perpetrator is Edi Rama, who used the 83 criminal warrants to protect himself from the Balluku file.

First he tried to blame the opposition.

Secondly, he denied, deceived, that there is a blockage or there is a non-voting of the IBAR report. The truth is this, dear citizens: The opposition is not the cause of the blockage of the voting of the IBAR report. The real cause is the vote with 83 criminal mandates, the shield of corruption of Edi Rama, Lubi Balluku and his family and official circle.

And I guarantee you, this blockage will become stronger and stronger. Let's not forget that 3 weeks ago there were 4 countries that blocked the vote on the IBAR report. On April 1, there were no longer 4 countries, but 9 countries, a good part of which are in favor of the enlargement of the European Union.

So, once again, with Edi Rama, there is no integration. Edi Rama is a fierce enemy, who is replacing true integration into the European Union with his integration with Belgrade. He is replacing the European passport with the Serbian passport.

Finally, he spoke about farmers, who are in a free fall and an unstoppable, unstoppable bankruptcy. The entire scheme, the entire attitude of this government towards farmers, both in the fiscal system and in subsidies, and now most recently in the stratospheric price of oil, is a practice of utter bankruptcy.

April 17th is the day that every citizen must show their anger, their revolt, against this government, which is doing everything to survive, to steal, to plunder, even more Albanians . / CNA
