Prime Minister Edi Rama was present today at the border point of Qafë Thana together with the Prime Minister of North Macedonia, Dimitar Kovacevski, for the inauguration of the new border program "One stop - One control" between Albania and Macedonia.

During this occasion, Rama spoke about Corridor 8, a major project that, according to him, is moving forward with North Macedonia.

The government's number one stated that the work has been divided into 4 parts, two open sites and two more sites expected to open soon.

"The Prime Minister rightly touched on a major project that we are moving forward together, Corridor 8. A very old dream whose day has come to be realized and on both sides of the border concrete work is currently being done on the ground for the construction of this the corridor.

We have two construction sites open and we are on the verge of opening two more construction sites because we have divided the construction of Corridor 8 into four parts and we have put a lot of effort into reawakening this project as part of the past of the former Egnatia Street and as part of the European infrastructure network.

It has been very difficult and finally we succeeded in the Tirana Summit between the Western Balkans and the EU and this gives us another positive energy, but it also gives us another important source of support from the European Union and therefore we had money in a few days a Summit in Rome with the Foreign Minister of Italy, the Foreign Minister of the Republic of Albania, the Foreign Minister of North Macedonia and the Foreign Minister of Bulgaria" - said Rama./CNA.al
