BKH responds to Bardhi/ Accusations of recruitment and release of malicious

The National Bureau of Investigation has reacted to the accusations made by MP Gazment Bardhi in the last plenary session regarding the investigations and disclosure of secrets during the performance of duty.

BKH informs that the recruitment process of all employees goes through several detailed stages and is monitored at each stage by a Commission composed of criminal justice experts appointed by the US and EU missions.

In the plenary session of the Parliament of Albania, dated 20.07.2023, the Deputy of the Democratic Party Mr. During his speech, Gazmend Bardhi mentioned the Directorate of the National Bureau of Investigation, alluding to its recruitment process and the disclosure of secrets during the performance of duty.

The process of recruiting all employees, pursuant to law no. 95/2016 "On the organization and operation of institutions to fight corruption and organized crime", amended, starting from the Director of the BKH, goes through several detailed stages, well defined by a Commission composed of the Head of Special Prosecutor's Office, and two Special Prosecutors, and has been monitored at every stage by a Commission composed of criminal justice experts appointed by the US and EU missions.

The National Bureau of Investigation, while carrying out its duties, is guided by the mission to fight organized crime and corruption at all levels, independently of any illegal influence, with the motto "preserving the secrecy of every action it carries out", based on laws in force.

The Director of the National Bureau of Investigation has very clearly stipulated in the law the functional tasks in terms of the investigative and administrative and organizational part. The legal provisions do not give the Director of BKH the right to be known, receive or request information on investigations, when he is not himself involved in carrying out actions as an investigator.

The National Bureau of Investigation as a specialized structure of the Judicial Police that investigates criminal offenses in the criminal jurisdiction of the Special Prosecutor's Office, from the beginning of its operation has shown integrity, impartiality, professionalism and dedication in fulfilling its mission, this is also expressed with the results so far.
