Why did the pseudo-oppositionist, Adriatik Lapaj, hide from the opposition

On Saturday, January 24, 2026, the opposition held a national protest on "Martyrs of the Nation" Boulevard, a protest that was later moved to the Albanian Parliament building.

The leader of "Albania Becomes", Adriatik Lapaj, the man who considers himself an opposition member, was not part of the opposition.

Why wasn't Adriatik Lapaj at the January 24 protest? Why didn't Adriatik Lapaj call on citizens and his supporters to participate in the opposition's national protest? Or does Lapaj call protesting only the fact of taking a chair and sitting in front of the Prime Minister's Office for days? Why hasn't Adriatik Lapaj invited the Democrats to be part of his protests?

Lapaj continues his protests, separated from the rest of the opposition, where he has announced another protest on January 31. Protests that Lapaj is holding with only 30 people for his personal interests.

Adriatik Lapaj, in the December 22 protest organized by the opposition, changed the location of his protest, moving his chair to the sidewalk opposite. While on January 24, while the opposition was protesting, the "opposition" Adrtiatik Lapaj was in Maliq, organizing the protest for his personal interests.

The true face of the "oppositionist" Lapaj was seen in the lists made with his ally at the time, Endri Shaban for the May 11, 2025 elections. Those who claimed to be the "new" of Albanian politics set an example that was not new at all.

The list, which included the families of Lapaj and Shabani, later led to a split between the two. Debates began over who would become an MP, Shabani's uncle or Lapaj's aunt.

Adriatik Lapaj behaves like a pseudo-opposition figure, as he actually seeks neither the overthrow of Rama nor the unification of the opposition, but a career and personal power.

Known as one of Erion Veliaj's "soldiers", financed by Soros and with dubious financing of the movement he leads, Adriatik Lapaj has only personal concerns about where to benefit the most.

On January 24, the majority of the opposition was in the protest. The Democratic Party is the largest opposition force and the basic principle of democracy is that the majority decides. Someone cannot come out with 30 people supporting them and claim to be the opposition.

However, the fact that the DP is the largest opposition force should not prevent other opposition parties from participating in protests. Protests are held by citizens against the government, not protests for Sali Berisha.

Adriatik Lapaj is not the opposition, it is just an opposition faction supported by the government and is behaving exactly as such. As a servant of the government. Adriatik Lapaj's distancing from the opposition protests shows nothing more than the fact that he is an instrument of the government. An instrument even misused by the government, which claims to be fighting the government./CNA
