Protest against Veliaj/ One protester is arrested, another is wanted

For the protest that took place yesterday in front of the Municipality of Tirana, the police detained the 49-year-old man with the initials SB. The latter is accused of "Disturbance of public peace", "Violation of the rules on explosives and incendiary substances", "Destruction of property by fire". , "Strikes in the line of duty" and "Manslaughter" remaining in the attempt. 

A UN citizen, 22 years old, resident in Tirana, is also under investigation.

Police Notification: 

The Local Directorate of the Tirana Police, in relation to the violent acts carried out during the protest held on 28.05.2024, in front of the Tirana Municipality, by the Alliance for the Protection of the Theatre, following investigative and procedural actions and under the direction of the Prosecutor's Office at the Court of The First Degree of the General Jurisdiction Tirana, stopped the citizen:

- SB, 49 years old, resident of Thumana, for the criminal offenses "Disruption of public peace", "Breach of rules on explosives and incendiary substances", "Destruction of property by fire", "Strikes due to duty" and "Murder with will" left in the attempt. This citizen was also detained on May 8, in connection with the protest of May 7, 2024.

A UN citizen, 22 years old, resident in Tirana, was also processed in a free state.

The materials were passed to the Prosecutor's Office for further action. /CNA
