The gasification project in Korça/ Realization, thanks to the TAP gas

The Ambassador of Azerbaijan in Albania, Anar Huseynov, spoke about the gasification project of Korca, where he stated that it is still in the preliminary stage. Ambassador Huseynov has stated that next year it is expected that there will be a concrete project.

"We are still in talks with the Albanian state, we are in the phase where we are preparing the documentation and the legal basis. This year we are finalizing this phase, there is still some work to do, it is a big project, so there is a bit of bureaucracy and after a while we will start the ideation of the project. We want to have the pilot project ready for next year," he said.

The mayor of Korça, Sotiraq Filo, said that gasification will be the project that will bring Korça's infrastructure to European standards.

"It is one of our biggest projects which will complete the interventions in the basic infrastructure of the city of Korça, after the reconstruction of the water supply and sewerage, the construction of the landfill, this project will bring the basic infrastructure of Korça to European standards. It is a project through which we aim to provide an affordable alternative to solve heating during the winter. Which will also be much more environmentally friendly than the massive use of wood for fire", declared the mayor Sotiraq Filo.

70% of this project will be borne by the Albanian government, while the rest will be supported by the government of Azerbaijan, designed by the well-known company SOKAR, while the gas line will benefit from the international project TAP./ CNA
