Trial against former KLA leaders/ Dulellari: The process is not meeting basic

Political scientist Adri Nurellari, invited to the "Now" show with Erla Mëhilli, spoke about the trial of former KLA leaders in The Hague.

Nurellari said that the Special Court is not functioning as it should, as even the basic rules of a judicial process are not being met.

The political scientist said that the protest will not be about the creation of the court, but about the fact that they are trying to smear UCCK fighters.

 

" The protest is for today and not for the origin and why that court was created, KLA fighters have the fifth or sixth chance to be put on trial, it is the most investigated guerrilla, it is not a surprise the attempt to tarnish. The problem today is not why that court was created, the KLA soldiers, unlike those in Bosnia or Serbia who are in hiding, ours have gone head on, they have not cowered. The problem today is not why, but that this court is functioning crookedly, the current process is not fulfilling even the most basic rules of a fair process and in violation of human rights. It is a painful paradox that the origins of Dick Martin in the Council of Europe and it is this court that is trampling with both feet the European Convention on Human Rights which is the cornerstone of the Council of Europe ," said Nurellari./CNA
