After the Presidency's rejections/ The 'shameful' Constitutional Court remembers to request practices from interested parties

2025-10-16 17:19:00, Aktualitet CNA

The Constitutional Court has been reminded to request from the Presidency and the Council of Ministers copies of the documentary practices of the initiation, drafting, review and approval of the dismissal decision and the decree for local by-elections.

An action that should have been taken days before the Court convened to decide whether or not to accept Veliaj's request.

The Constitutional Court managed to convene, forced by the issuance of the Presidential Decree for the by-elections.

We recall that the Constitutional Court went into hiding a few days after the Council of Ministers approved the decision to dismiss the mayor of Tirana. The court was brought out of hiding by the President's decree, which our Constitutional Court believed it could and should suspend.

The review of the decree had to be done within 10 days, so the Court was forced to come out of the drawer where it had been put together with the file.

Yesterday, a scanned material from the Constitutional Court of the Presidency's objections was leaked to the media. Those objections also highlighted the fact that the Prime Minister's Office and the Presidency had not received any applications. This is another scandal of the Constitutional Court, which proves that the Court has made decisions without considering anything.

The only document the Court had on the table when it decided to suspend the decree were some exciting "arguments" by Erion Veliaj?

No Court of First Instance of General Jurisdiction would have acted with such professional incompetence or bias in adjudicating a case.

This is the biggest scandal ever to occur in any court. /CNA
