Traffic Police with an "iron fist"/ 34 drivers are arrested, over 270

The Traffic Police has taken stock of a week, where 34 drivers were arrested and more than 270 licenses were suspended.

In total, 28 30 drivers of vehicles and motor vehicles were punished with administrative measures, for various violations.

Police Notification:

Based on the increase in the flow of vehicles, mainly towards coastal, touristic areas and commercial and urban centers, as well as based on the detailed analysis of the causes of road incidents, the Traffic Police throughout the country has taken a series of additional measures, with the aim of increasing road safety parameters.

In all national axes and large urban centers, monitoring has been intensified with intelligent vehicles, automatic radars, cameras and mobile patrols with unregistered vehicles.

During this week, throughout the country, as a result of monitoring, by the services of the Traffic Police, 34 drivers were identified and arrested throughout the country, for driving while intoxicated or without a driving license.

278 driving licenses were suspended, mainly for speeding over the permitted norms, for driving under the influence of alcohol and driving in the opposite direction.

During this week, the Traffic Police throughout the country has focused more on offenses with a high risk of involvement in road incidents and specifically on speeding beyond the permitted rates, wrong overtaking, using a mobile device while driving, driving under the influence of alcohol or in a drunken state and for other violations.

Across the country, a total of 28,303 drivers of vehicles and motor vehicles have been identified and punished with administrative measures, for various violations, including:

1789 vehicle drivers who used mobile phones while driving;

10,954 vehicle drivers who were speeding over the permitted rates, but without the additional measure of driving license suspension;

624 vehicle drivers, for not wearing a seat belt;

3457 vehicle drivers, for wrong passing;

568 motor vehicle drivers, for not wearing a protective helmet.

8,579 drivers were fined for wrong registrations.

456 drivers, for driving under the influence of alcohol.

876 for other violations of the Traffic Code.

The police appeal to all road users to strictly follow traffic rules, as all roads are monitored by smart vehicles and mobile patrols of the Road Police.
