The police take stock of the month of March/ 90 operations, 13 citizens

The State Police has made a work report for the month of March, where it turns out that 90 police operations were carried out and 553 suspected perpetrators of criminal offenses were arrested.

9 of the operations, in cooperation with European partners and those in the United Arab Emirates, captured citizens wanted internationally for participation in criminal organizations of drug trafficking, crimes against the person and economic crimes.

13 citizens have been extradited as a result of the cooperation of the State Police, with the Kosovar, Spanish, British, Italian and German partners.

The special police plan against the cultivation of cannabis hit in 5 cases the sale of seeds and in 1 case in Velipoja, the cultivation in cubes. Special structures of the State Police and high-tech tools will serve to combat this criminal activity in the future.

During the month of March, the work of the Police resulted in:

- the discovery of 3 bases in Durrës and Vlora where criminal groups were supplied with weapons, ammunition, tools and camouflage items to commit serious crimes, as well as the attack on a case in Tirana of the transportation for the purpose of selling to criminal groups a number of great weapons and military ammunition.

- the attack in Tirana of 2 cases of trafficking through the mail, from the USA to Albania, of cannabis with a high percentage of THC;

- the seizure of 3 remote-controlled mines, 53 firearms that would be trafficked or sold to the criminal contingent, very large quantities of cartridges of various calibers, 37,336 cubes of cannabis seeds and seedlings, 9,700 cannabis seeds, about 100 kilograms of cannabis, about 1.2 kilograms of cocaine and thousands of doses of these substances;

- the seizure of 207,285 euros from suspicious sources, 4 armored vehicles, 1 grenade, 7 explosive molds, 8 pairs of binoculars, 4 silencers, 7 transceivers, vehicles, motor vehicles, license plates, camouflage hoods, clothing and fennels as of the Police;

- clearing 130 thefts (some with violence and/or weapons), 4 cases of vehicle burning, 1 explosion with explosives and 2 cases of injuries;

- preventing the escalation of 8 conflicts for various reasons.

-Furthermore, as a result of the work of all Police structures, 24/7 in the field, to guarantee the rule of law:

- the daily commitment to the implementation of the Safety Package in schools continued. During this month, cases of introduction of narcotics and other illegal items into schools were prevented and dealt with, as well as entities that sell products were checked within the perimeter;

- 136 citizens have been arrested or prosecuted for domestic violence;

- 142 cases of environmental crimes were investigated, for which 17 heavy vehicles were seized that eroded river beds, transported inerts, soil, illegally cut wood or materials for construction without permission;

- 6 cases of smuggling with different goods were investigated;

- the police of Gjirokastra, Korça and Shkodra have finalized 4 operations against the transportation of immigrants who intend to cross the borders illegally;

- 24 cases of illegal organization of poker gambling games, with machines and sports betting with mobile phones were hit;

- 5 attempts to pass money without declaring it, were hit in PKK Port Durrës and in PKK Morinë and Kakavije.

- The Traffic Police and smart cars have been present during this month, in all axes of the country, with the sole purpose: preventing road accidents and facilitating the movement of road users.

- As a result of preventive work and continuous monitoring:

- 135 drivers were arrested, of which 94 for driving while intoxicated and 41 for driving without a driving license.

- 204 driving licenses were suspended, of which 125 for exceeding speed limits, 24 for driving under the influence of alcoholic beverages and 55 for other violations of the Highway Code, for which this administrative measure is provided.

-However, the Border Police has provided quality, fast and ethical service to citizens entering/exiting, in all border crossings, as well as guaranteeing the free and safe movement of citizens, goods and services.

In order to fulfill this goal, the following have been implemented:

-52 cases of illegal border crossing;

-13 cases of using false documents to cross the border;
