The political leader of the DP in Tirana, Belind Këlliçi, has spoken about the theft scheme by the directors of Veliaj in the Municipality of Tirana.

Kelliçi has stated that in 2023 he denounced it as a scheme when he was running for the Municipality of Tirana.

He shows how the 5D company stole tenders and the connections their family members had with this company, from which they benefited.

Kelliçi emphasizes that the truth is that officials with 800,000 lek salaries in the Municipality have hotels worth 15,000 euros.

"On April 26 of last year, as a candidate for Tirana municipality, I publicly denounced the case of the company "5D". Until then it had never been spoken. I had about a month to compile the material together with my staff. The story was incredible when I was told that there was talk about a company called "5D", the 5 directors of the municipality who had opened companies and stole tenders themselves, having their family members.

We didn't believe it at first, but tracing it with extracts in the CKB with our contacts, with all the history we managed to generate, it turned out that we were dealing with an extraordinary corrupt, illegal scheme that was set up within the municipality of Tirana by several directors of the municipality of Tirana."

On April 27, one day after I first filed the denunciation, SPAK registered the initiation of the main investigations.

On May 9, 5 days before the elections, I have officially submitted in writing to SPAK a detailed report for all tenders for all individuals for all their family members employed in the municipality according to my data and the hotels and businesses that they they were building.

We are dealing with state officials with 800,000 lek salary who have 15 million euro hotels.

From May 9, the prosecution in this case, Klodian Braho, merged the report of May 27 and May 9 into one and started the investigation.

The last time I reacted to this issue was on Wednesday, when I made a public appeal to Klodian Braho from the PD headquarters to act on this file after it has been 336 days since we made the denunciation and I know what I made the report, it was detailed and the next day, Thursday, we had the arrests and the action.

In my judgment, they are coincidences that have no connection, because I judge that this blow that actually happened is a blow that Edi Rama gave to Veliaj to remove the media noise from the denunciation of his brother's involvement in the case of Xibraka.
