Deputy Agron Shehaj spoke about the anti-SPAK draft resolution in today's session in the Assembly.
According to Shehaj, politics is using the resolution to protect the corrupt, trying to limit justice in Albania.
Furthermore, the deputy stated that the proposed resolution is not intended to fight corruption, but to save the corrupt from responsibility.
The MP underlines that the resolution is not against corruption but to show SPAK its muscles.
"The draft resolution has nothing to do with the fight against corruption, on the contrary, the resolution is being made to protect the corrupt.
Why do I think this resolution aims to fight justice?
Because the same thing is happening in Albania that happened in some Eastern European countries, in Romania, in Bulgaria, in Croatia, they had the same problem that we have today.
The government was corrupt and regardless of the rotation of governments, corruption not only did not fall but increased and consolidated, identical as in Albania. Albania was the most corrupt country in Europe and continues to be the most corrupt country in Europe. They were in the same situation as we are today.
He told you that if you want to integrate into the EU, you must strengthen justice and impunity. Just like in Albania and in these countries, it was decided that justice should bring the political class, the corrupt, to justice.
How did the corrupt politicians react? They began to attack justice by using legislative power.
Even today in Albania, the SPAK is investigating former ministers, deputies, it is interrogating representatives of the majority, the ministers of this government are constantly appearing before the SPAK every day to take responsibility, to give answers about the affairs corruption that they have supported, that they have approved or that they have remained silent.
Now the majority reacts in the same way as it has in other countries. It is setting up a Commission with the aim of completely restricting justice, this is the real purpose of this resolution, to save the corrupt. Corrupt politics is seeking to escape justice through resolutions and commissions like the one you want to create.
This is the reason why I think that this is not a resolution against corruption, but it is the next attempt to show the muscles to SPAK, to tell SPAK that we represent the sovereign and are inviolable.
You started with the amnesty, you refused the extension of SPAK's mandate, telling you that your mandate is over and you will remain in the middle of the road. Tell SPAK every day how much you support justice, just look at Duman's last statement, who said the lack of cooperation with the Police is shocking.
Whoever thinks that Rama is corrupt, that this government is corrupt and believes that justice must be supported, cannot not vote or even worse support him, but must vote against", said Agron Shehaj./ CNA
