The High Prosecution Council met this Monday to decide on the mandate of Alfred Balla, the head of this institution, who was dismissed by "vetting".

Today's meeting is chaired by Tartar Bazaj, since Alfred Balla is not present. 

"I am forced to call this meeting, I don't feel comfortable at all. We are ten members, Mr. Balla is absent", said Bazaj.

We remind you that Balla had to undergo the re-evaluation process since he worked as a legal assistant at the Supreme Court until July 31, 2017.

Initially, he opposed the vetting by "e-mail", claiming "that such a process is not necessary for him, since he does not have the status of a magistrate as a legal assistant in the Supreme Court". Balla has even filed a lawsuit in the Administrative Court saying that he was dismissed from this post.

The observers of the International Monitoring Operation strongly opposed Balla's request to stop his "vetting", but the KPK stopped the "vetting" and did not even impose the sanction that prohibits his appointment to some positions in the justice system for 15 years.

After the appeal of the Public Commissioner, the KPA overturned the decision of the KPK and imposed this sanction on Alfred Balla. On the other hand, the head of the KLP himself did not accept the decision of the jury and said that he has not been dismissed./  CNA
