A day after clashes between the Municipal Police and representatives of the Shkodra Mufti's Office over the removal of a sign with prophetic sayings near the Abu Beker Mosque, the situation has taken new developments.

The Shkodra Mufti's Office announced today the suspension of works being carried out in the area around the Parruce Mosque, part of a project by the Shkodra Municipality. In a press release, the religious institution states that the works were taking place on the "wakif land", property of the Mufti's Office.

Announcement from the Shkodra Mufti:

"The Shkodra Mufti announces that it is stopping the continuation of the works of the Shkodra Municipality project, which were being carried out on its waqf land, near the Parrucë Mosque."
