The opposition wins the elections in Turkey/ Berisha: Erdogan accepted defeat

Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha reacted after the victory of the Turkish opposition in the local elections in Turkey.

Through a status on social networks, Berisha writes that Turkey is changing and Erdogan has accepted defeat and appreciates the victory of the opposition as a turning point in the history of Turkey.

According to Berisha, the loss in Istanbul and Bursa, cities with a strong Albanian presence, proves that Erdogan also paid for the obscure support he has given to Edi Rama these years.

"Turkey is changing! The opposition wins the elections.

Dear friends, the Turkish opposition led by the Republican People's Party won the local elections in Turkey.

President Erdogan has accepted the defeat and appreciates the victory of the opposition as a turning point in the history of Turkey. Authoritarian attitudes, excessive affinity with Russia, abandonment of the Kemalist heritage and his and the state's interference in religious matters were punished by Turkish voters in these elections.

I also add here that the loss in Istanbul and Bursa, cities with a strong Albanian presence, proves that Erdogan also paid for the obscure and unprincipled personal support he has given these years to Edi Rama, this true enemy of the Albanian nation, who with the state that built, removed 1/3 of the Albanians from Albania.

On this occasion, the Democratic Party heartily wishes the victory of the Turkish opposition in these elections and remains open to cooperate with the opposition leadership in the best interest for a future in peace and democracy for our two peoples and our two countries", writes Berisha./ CNA
