For the protest in front of the City Hall of Tirana that will take place on Friday morning, the State Police announces that there will be a temporary blockage of traffic on the main boulevard near the City Hall of Tirana.

The police call on drivers to follow alternative routes until the end of the rally, such as the Middle Ring and the Great Ring.

In the meantime, organizers, leaders and participants in gatherings are called upon to respect the law and distance themselves from any act of violence.

Police Notification: 

The State Police informs that it has taken organizational and operational measures to guarantee public order and safety during the development of a rally requested by the "Alliance for the Protection of the Theater", the next day, on June 21, 2024, at 10:00 a.m.: 00, near the Municipality of Tirana.

In implementation of the plan of measures, the State Police announces that, tomorrow, from 09:30 onwards, there will be a temporary blockage of vehicle traffic, on the main boulevard near the Municipality of Tirana. For this reason, we suggest that alternative routes be used until the end of the rally, such as the Middle Ring and the Great Ring.

During several previous gatherings, held by the Alliance for the Protection of the Theatre, in the square in front of the Tirana City Hall, repeated cases of opposition to the police forces, the use and throwing of Molotov cocktails and other objects, in the direction of the Tirana City Hall, were recorded. seriously endangering the lives and health of police officers and the participants in the gatherings themselves.

The Tirana Local Police Directorate fully respects the right of citizens to organize and participate in peaceful gatherings.

The police repeat the call to the organizers, leaders and participants in the gatherings to respect the law and distance themselves from any act of violence. /CNA
