Former Prime Minister Sali Berisha has reacted to the death of former minister and former MP Kosta Barka.

Through a consoling message, Berisha recalls that Barka was a determined democrat, a capable, honest, respected personality who won the trust of all his constituents in Gjirokastër and represented them with dedication in the Parliament of Albania.

Berisha writes that his death is a heavy and irreparable loss.

"Kosta Barka closed his eyes forever.

Dear friends, Kosta Barka, former Minister of Works and Social Affairs and Deputy of the Democratic Party for the District of Gjirokastra closed his eyes forever!

This is bitter news for his family, friends, but also for Dropulli, Gjirokastra, the Democratic Party and Albania.

Kosta Barka was a husband, parent and exemplary citizen. He was a determined democrat and capable, honest and respected personality who won the trust of his constituents in the minority and Gjirokastër and represented them with special dedication in the country's Parliament. Kosta Barka performed with honor, skill and full efficiency the duty of the minister in the coalition government of the Democratic Party and remained until the end of his life an outstanding and tireless activist of it.

Expressing my greatest respect and deepest gratitude for his valuable contribution and our close cooperation that we have had, I express my deepest condolences to his esteemed family, friends, relatives, the community of Dropulli and Gjirokastra for the heavy and irreparable loss and I pray together with them that the great soul of Kosta Barka finds the peace it deserves.
