The abuses at the 62nd Song Festival on Albanian Radio Television have been one of the issues denounced by CNA for several weeks.
This festival cost up to 600 million lek, a figure that gave rise to suspicions of abuse of funds by the heads of state television. The leaders of RTSH had approved additional payments for rental vehicles, for competitive songs, for guests and for scenography.

Based on this, CNA Media addressed the Albanian Public Radio and Television with three continuous requests. First to the head of the institution, Mr. Alfred Peza, then to the chairman of the Governing Council, Mr. Leka Bungo, regarding the funds used by this institution for the RTSH Festival, as well as the Broadcasting Rights that the public television has.
Today CNA Media has sent the next letter to Mr. Peza and Mr. Bungo regarding the expenses of the Song Festival, which in the 62nd edition were 140 million lek more compared to the previous edition.
The fourth request comes after the response from the Commissioner for the Right to Information, who gave CNA the right to receive the official data, while informing the leaders of RTSH, Peza and Bungo, that with this action have violated the laws in force on the Right to Information.
The commissioner ordered the leaders of RTSH not to hide the information about the expenses and to return an official answer to the CNA and to anyone who requests information.
This order comes after many efforts by the CNA to make an institution that is paid for by the taxes of Albanians more transparent, which makes it even more mandatory to provide any information.

We recall that Alfred Peza avoided the answer to the expenses of the Song Festival and hid between the lines, justifying that the Board decided otherwise.
On the other hand, Leka bungo remained silent on any request and refused transparency. Instead of responding, he attacked and accused CNA of correct reporting on RTSH abuses.
They already got the answer from the law. So CNA sends the next request asking the questions that Peza and Bungo did not answer and hide the documentation.
We are waiting for an answer from Alfred Peza and Leka Bungo, who have a legal obligation to show how the Albanian taxpayers' money was spent./ CNA
