How do you comment on the decision of the Special Court for Fredi Beleri?

Ilir Meta: It is not the Special Court, it is the Rama Court, it is a political court. Beler was not arrested, he was kidnapped and everyone knows that everything was pre-fabricated.

The Prime Minister in a television interview, a few hours before the Police kidnapped Beler, the Prime Minister warned Beler that he would deal with him personally.

-Do you think Beler is innocent?

Ilir Meta: I believe that Beleri is the legitimate mayor of Himara Municipality, elected by the people, confirmed by the CEC and according to our Constitution, nothing can stop him from taking the oath.

Is judge Irena Gjoka ordered by Rama?

Ilir Meta: Justice here is totally controlled by Rama. This issue is only political, and has nothing to do with respect for the law, the Constitution and the will of the people.

Do you think that the Beleri issue is hindering Albania's EU membership?

Ilir Meta: I think that the Beleri case is a clear case, in which the whole world can see that the rule of law does not exist in Albania. Criminal groups openly supported Rama's candidates, openly violating the will of the people./ CNA
