Kosta Barka, former Minister of Social Affairs in the Berisha government and former deputy, passed away today at the age of 70.
The news was announced by MP Tritan Shehu, who expressed his condolences to the family members.
Barka served as Minister of Social Affairs in Sali Berisha's government from 2005 to 2008.
He was a former deputy of the Union Party for Human Rights (PBDNJ) and represented the Greek ethnic minority.
Also, he has served as a deputy of the Democratic Party in the Assembly of Albania.
"Kosta Barka is no longer among us!
Together we lose a man of quality, character, special values.
We lose an irreplaceable friend.
A statesman, deputy and minister with rare honesty!
A consistent politician, with principles and clear and unshakable principles.
A democrat from the first hours, a symbol of the center and progressive vision.
It was not just Dropulli, nor just Gjirokastra that was lost...
PD lost it all.
We all miss it!
Sincere condolences to the family, friends , to the relatives of his community, to everyone!
Let's always remember him as he was!", declared Shehu on social networks./ CNA
