Muho Asllani, former member of the Politburo during communism, passed away this Thursday.

Muho passed away at the age of 88 in his apartment in the city of Durrës.

After completing the Party School, Asllani was elected a member of the Central Committee, subsequently holding a series of duties as first secretary in several districts of the country.

A little about the life and work of Muho Asllani:

Muho Asllani was born in October 1937 in Bërdicë, Shkodra district, into a patriotic family.

In 1953, he graduated from the 7-year school in Bërdice and then attended the agricultural high school in Lushnje, but after completing the first year, he dropped out of school to return to Bërdice.

He graduated from the Shkodra Agricultural Technical School in 1958. In 1961 he started the Agricultural Institute and graduated in 1964. He graduated from the Party School by correspondence in 1968 and in November 1971, precisely at the 6th Congress of the Albanian People's Party, he was elected a member of the Party Central Committee. Meanwhile, he also served as Secretary of the Shkodra Party Committee, where Prokop Murra was the first secretary.

On January 3, 1974, he was appointed First Secretary of the Party Committee of the Mati district. It was not long before he was appointed First Secretary of the Kukës district in July of that year, that is, in 1974. In May 1976, he was appointed Deputy Minister of Agriculture. In March 1979, he was appointed First Secretary of the Burreli Party Committee. He was First Secretary in Shkodra. In November 1981, at the Eighth Party Congress, he became a member of the Political Bureau of the Central Committee.

Later, as a member of the Politburo, he was again appointed First Secretary in Durrës. He was dismissed in 1991 by the Politburo led by Ramiz Alia.
