The Court of Tirana has ordered the measure of "imprisonment" for the three officials of the Ministry of Finance.

The court has imprisoned Arlind Gjokutaj, the Secretary General of the Ministry of Finance, Fatmir Hoxhaj, director of legal affairs in this ministry, and Alban Ruli, private bailiff.

The three arrested are accused of the crime of "abuse of duty" after causing damage to the state budget amounting to 1.2 million euros.

The court session started today at 09:30 and lasted almost 4 hours.

Their arrest was made after the investigations against the citizen Ilir Thana, who is accused of fraud, while the investigations had also started for the officials of the executive office and the Ministry of Finance, who, with their actions in violation of the law, have caused damage to the budget of the state, which is reported to capture the figure of 1.2 million euros./ CNA.al
