After more than two years since its collapse, the mayor Erion Veliaj has announced that the works for the construction of the new National Theater have started.

" A theater that didn't even have a foundation, in the winter you would go with a blanket and in the summer you would come with a towel, today we are finally ready, thanks to those who brought us this far.

I apologize to the actors who did not join us, how can there be political forces against the theater, the square, they are fragments of parties. It is really unfortunate. To think that these parties started as a drama, it was tragic that the characters were declared non grata and it is a comedy that those initiatives have turned into free comic works. Today more than ever we need to catch up on lost time. The theater will be in its own time. The theater will be built with public money.
