Landfill on the brink of disaster/ Hundreds of thousands of euros in payments

The incinerator company that does not exist and is in sequestration continues to devour hundreds of millions of Lek from the state budget.

Meanwhile, the landfill is on the brink of disaster, as well as CNA has published images showing that it has exceeded its capacity.

Despite the low level of waste processing through incineration, the amounts spent from the budget for this incinerator are high.

For only 7 months, i.e. in the period January-July, 700 million Lek were given from the state budget as payment to Integrated Energy BV SPV, the company that manages the incinerator.

Treasury data generated by Open Data Albania show that from the beginning of the year until July 18, about 36 transactions with an amount exceeding 6.9 million euros have been made to the incinerator, which is now administered by the Seized Assets Agency.

This value represents the payments from the municipalities of Tirana, Kamza, Durrës and Kavaja for the transportation of waste to the Sharra landfill.

Meanwhile, on the other hand, citizens continue to pay for an incinerator that does not exist, about 30 million euros per year, and they do not receive service.

Today, as we speak, trash has invaded the capital and this is reflected in facts and images by CNA, which will continue to denounce the affair that swallows millions from the pockets of poor Albanian taxpayers./ CNA
