Crime Investigation Course/ US Embassy: 15 AMP investigators are being trained

The International Criminal Investigation Training Assistance Program (ICITAP) has launched a three-week course for 15 Police Oversight Agency agents in crime investigation.

The news was announced by the US Embassy in Tirana, which states that the goal is to increase the skills of Judicial Police Officers and law enforcement in the investigation of crimes.

The US Embassy in Tirana says that a total of 160 officers have been trained so far.

"Today, on September 23, the US Department of Justice - ICITAP, in partnership with the Albanian Police Oversight Agency (AMP), launched a three-week course on crime investigation for 15 AMP investigators at the Ministry of Interior. This program, first conceived in 2022, aims to increase the skills of Judicial Police and Law Enforcement Officers in the investigation of crimes, meeting national standards. Supported by senior officials in the Albanian government, this course has already trained over 160 officers and continues to build capacity in law enforcement in Albania. The US Embassy is proud to support this initiative for more police accountability on the road to EU integration," the announcement states./ CNA
