"Be careful in the Krraba tunnel"/ Journalist Dervishi appeals to
Krraba tunnel

In a reaction on social networks, journalist Fredinand Dervishi has announced that the speed limit in the Krraba tunnel has been reduced from 80 km/h to 60 km/h and the police have installed cameras to catch violators.

Based on this change, the journalist raises the concern that all Albanians who pass through that tunnel have fallen into a trap and the police are imposing fines of up to 300,000 ALL.

According to him, the problem is that the unannounced reduction of the speed limit and the simultaneous setting of the trap has nothing to do with a policeman serving the citizens.

According to him, drivers should first be sensitized and informed of the changes, and then measures should be taken if they violate the rules.

Full reaction:

Traps for crime, not for the people. Beware of crossing the Krrabes tunnel! The speed limit has been reduced from 80 kmh to 60 kmh. At the same time, the Traffic Police has installed a trap (cameras that photograph license plates) to catch those who exceed 60 km/h. The result: All the Albanians who pass through that tunnel, in the Tirana-Elbasan direction, have fallen headfirst into the nets. Without exception.
Lek more in the coffers of the State Police, since the maximum fines go to 300 thousand old Lek.
It seems that the new minister, apart from equating the Albanian Police with those of the highest level in Europe, was worried about materialistic solutions.
The problem is that the unannounced reduction of the speed limit and the simultaneous setting of the trap has nothing to do with a policeman serving the citizens. The Traffic Police should not immediately and initially entrap and punish citizens, but sensitize drivers. This should be the main goal. Only after the sensitization period can the people be held accountable.  Surprise traps should not be related to the people, but to the crime. /CNA
