The lawyer of the former Minister of the Interior, Saimir Tahiri, has denied that there is a conflict between him and the director of the Fier prison, after the request for transfer to the Lushnja prison.

Invited to "Radarin Informative", Maks Haxhia said that Tahir's request was made because there are many convicts in Fier for other crimes and it will also be easier for him to meet his family members.

Nuk më është ankuar për rregulla të forta, ka qenë i disiplinuar dhe shumë zbatues për rregullat e burgut”, tha Haxhia.

Ai shtoi gjithashtu se do ta takojë ish-ministrin të hënën, por nuk beson të ketë pasur konflikt mes tij dhe drejtorit të burgut.

Haxhia said, among other things, that Tahiri has not been making the request for a long time, but he wanted from the beginning to serve his sentence in Lushnja, but was sent to Fier because the conditions were better there.

"He hasn't been asking for it for a long time, he has been telling me for 10 days, and he even asked to go to Lushnja on the day he was banned. Fier Prison is the newest building," Haxhia said.

Earlier it was reported that Saimir Tahiri had requested to be transferred to Lushnja prison. One of the disputes was the trading of water within the prison premises. According to the prison regulations, prisoners should not be supplied with water by their family members. After these clashes, Tahiri asked the director to be transferred to another prison institution. /CNA.al
