Prime Minister Edi Rama insisted on the fact that Albania should open negotiations with the European Union this year.

In the conference with Commissioner Oliver Varhelyi, he said that if North Macedonia does not decide in favor of the French proposal, Shqiqëria will ask for separation the next day.

"A session may have ended, but as far as I know, the debate will continue in the parliament of North Macedonia. I want to hope that the result will be positive. If it is positive, the conference will be called soon, if it is not negative, we will ask for separation from the Macedonian-Bulgarian file the next day. We are convinced that Albania should open negotiations this year. I hope that the parliament of North Macedonia will open the way for the proposal, but this is not something that we decide. This is decided by the sovereign parliament of North Macedonia", said Rama. /CNA.al
