"Committee", a novelty bar in the old bazaar of Korça that employed foreign waiters from Africa

The Old Market of Korça is one of the most frequented areas not only by the people of Korça but also by local and foreign tourists. For several years, this project has been developed even more, with various businesses in the area, starting from bars and restaurants, to various shops.

CNA Tv brings in the next reportage one of the most special premises of the old bazaar, which is located in the center of the area, and attracts attention as soon as you look at it.

"Committee" is the most interesting bar of the bazaar, which has preserved the old tradition and antiquity of the city, thus being considered a museum for those who choose to visit it and enjoy a coffee.

Arbër Çepani and Kristi Tako have started their collaboration for the further development of this business, bringing an innovation in service and staff. The innovation is precisely the employment of foreigners as waiters, more specifically two young men from Ghana.

Nyador Courage Kojo is a 30-year-old young man from Ghana who sought for a long period to choose a place to live away from his country. The young Ghanaian wanted to make a long trip but had not decided where he would go, it seems that Albania entered his heart from the first moment he saw it on the Internet. Besides the natural beauties, Nyador really liked the Albanian language, making it his duty to learn it and speak it with the Albanians. The hospitality and the approachable way that the Korcarians express in their behavior has made Nyador feel at home.

"This is my first time coming to Korça. When I was in Ghana I decided to travel and I was looking for many different places to visit. During my research, I found Albania. I read a lot about it and it gave me the impression that it is a very beautiful place. Also, they have a very special language and I am inclined to learn it. When I came, they saw me as a brother, as a family, especially Kristi, who is my manager a lot. People will ask why I chose Albania. I liked Albania a lot and I would like to get Albanian citizenship, because I think that together we can build a good Albania", he said.

For Nyador, the length of his stay in Korcë depends on the sensations he will experience next. With his mouth full, the Ghanaian says that he feels quite good, both in the reception given to the customers and also in the cooperation with the bar's staff.

"Eksperienca ime me njerëzit që punoj apo edhe iu shërbej, nuk ka ndonjë ndryshim të madh nga vendi im. Kjo sepse janë njerëz të mirë, të dashur, më shohin si të huaj dhe më respektojnë. Është një eksperiencë e këndshme, nuk shoh asgjë negative. Të punoj edhe me kolegët e mi në lokal është tjetër eksperiencë e bukur. Unë jam 30 vjeç dhe qëndrimi im këtu në Korccë varet se sa mirë ndihem. Momentalisht ndihem shumë mirë dhe me planin tim do të qëndroj për sa kohë që ndihem kështu", tha ai.

Për Korçën është mjaft interesante që pjesë e stafit të shërbimit në lokale e restorante të jenë punonjësit e huaj, nga vendet e Afrikës dhe më gjerë. Njëri nga administratorët, Kristi Tako, tregon më tepër lidhur me këtë projekt të veçantë që po implementojnë në zonën e Pazarit të Vjetër të qytetit. Tradita e vjetër dhe antikiteti janë çelësi kyç i ambjenteve të lokalit, me karriget prej druri, objekte të vjetra si biçikleta, makinë qepëse, çentro të shtruara nëpër tavolina, tapete e shumë e shumë elementë që janë ruajtur prej vitesh nga korçarët. Tek "Komiteti" klientët mund të gjejnë një shumëllojshmëri pijesh por edhe gatimet tradicionale që janë aq të pëlqyera nga të gjithë.

"Ideja e këtij biznesi është për ruajtjen e traditës së vjetër, të antikitetit, jemi munduar ta përshtatim që njerëzit të ndihen sa më komodë, të kujtojnë të shkuarën, të jenë sa më të qetë. Brandi jonë mbahet për pjesën e rakisë. Ne kemi 26 lloje rakie, raki e çdo stine, jemi munduar të jemi sa më fleksibël. Te pjesa e kuzhinës kemi bërë një kuzhinë tradicionale, të kohës së dikurshme të qytetit të Korçës. Kemi gatimet tradicionale si petullat, petkat, trahanatë që na gatuanin gjyshet dikur. Jemi munduar të jemi sa më të mirë në pjesën e shërbimit të kuzhinës. Për momentin kam një zonjë që i gatuan, do rikthehem edhe unë në gatim. Do futim një ushqim që do të jetë miks", tha ai.

Ndërsa e pyesim Kristin për llojet e rakive, për vështirësinë e gjetjes së tyre, nuk e morëm dot një përgjigje për shkak të sekretit të lokalit. Pikësynimi kryesor është pikërisht sjellja dhe shërbimi i 26 llojeve të rakive, nga ajo e rrushit, kumbullës, manit, e deri tek rakia e pjekur e disa lloje të tjera të veccanta.

"Këtë e kemi pak sekret me thënë të drejtën, është brand i lokalit. Për këtë mbahemi, e kemi pikësynimin tonë kryesor. Rakinë mundohemi ta gjejmë, e thashë që është me kohën e me stinët, s'mund ti plotësojmë dot të gjitha. Mundohemi të kemi më të mirat por që po e lemë sekret për momentin", u shpreh ai.

During these months of the summer season, the Old Market of Korça has been one of the destinations chosen by foreigners to take a closer look, to take pictures with each other, as well as to try the cuisine of the area. Kristi says that the most visitors were from Spain, but there were also from Italy and Greece. While what has been liked more compared to all the businesses in the area, is precisely the staff of foreign waiters who have attracted many customers, asking to take photos. In the near future, the "Committee" will organize a series of activities and events that will make a splash in the shopping area, with comedy nights, serenades, poetry, drama, karaoke and much more.
