Jamarbër Malltezi, after the scandal with the ships with toxic waste, denounced the case of a Russian ship which brought nitrogenous chemical fertilizer to Durrës.

 Malltezi emphasizes that this fertilizer has effects in the open field as it can get wet from the rains and can explode from temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius.

He underlines that neither the Port of Durrës nor Porto Romano have warehouses to store such amounts of fertilizer, since the ship has a tonnage of up to 5000 tons, but he clarifies that it is not known how much it may have brought.

"A ship with a Russian flag, from the Russian port of Rostov-on-Don, brings to Durres nitrogenous chemical fertilizer produced in Russia.

Nitrogen fertilizer is included in the group of goods with dual use.

The ship has a tonnage of 5,000 tons, but it is not known how much it is bringing. What are the effects of a minimum of 3000 tons of nitrogen fertilizer in the open field? It can get wet from the rain and can burst from temperatures above 30 degrees Celsius.

Neither in the Port of Durres nor in Romano Port are there warehouses to store such amounts of fertilizer.

This risks happening like in the port of Lebanon, where from the explosion of 2570 tons of nitrogenous fertilizer there were 218 dead, not counting the injured and material damage.
