Journalist Mentor Kikia has opened a great cause to prevent the departure of young people from Albania.

Kikia has made a strong appeal on social networks, where she asks Albanians for help to stop abandoning the country.

He says that the flight of young people is a big wound and therefore he will start a campaign, where he will talk to the Albanians so that they understand that Albania is our homeland.

Dear friends, known and unknown!

For 13 years, I have worked together with thousands of girls, boys, men and women, with the environmental volunteer movement Albanian Corps of Volunteers. I am eternally grateful to those who joined the environmental cause and contributed to it. I am proud of what we have done and will do, of the wonderful work and of the education we have planted. There is still much to do and we will continue….

But today I am turning to you with an appeal, to ask for your help, to devote myself to a new cause.

The flight of young people is today a great plague. I have traveled to many small towns, suburban and rural areas, where the situation is really dramatic. Escape has become a life goal for young people. Speaking only of flight, flight, abandonment, villages and neighborhoods without children and young people, closed houses, lonely old people, schools that close and classes that fill up, leaving has taken the form of an epidemic.

We have become a group of people who want to do good for this country. And we will start a campaign. We want to speak in different ways to young people and people in general.

We know that the flight is not stopped with words, nor with appeals, nor with government decisions, nor by making the eagle with your hands, nor by being told that Albania is more beautiful than the Maldives, nor by telling them that your Motherland is here....

We want to appeal to those who run away, to those who run away for the reason that "this place cannot be done, because this place is over, because from here you have to run away at night...", so we want to tell them that before they decide to run away, try to do something else. They try to change what they think is wrong here.

Have you thought that it is better to try to change the situation, that is, to solve the problem, than to run away from your home and country?

Have you thought about your parents, how will they live alone here?

If the citizens think that the municipality is not working well, then they should not leave the city, but they demand accountability and hold the municipality accountable.

If citizens feel that their government is not working well, they should not leave the country, but hold their government accountable.

If the citizens think that the political class that leads them is corrupt, they should not run away from their country, but they should use all the mechanisms that democracy gives them to remove the corrupt politicians.

Dear friends!

This is not a project that ends with a few "sensitizing" meetings. No! This is the initiative of a group of people who think that this country is seriously threatened by abandonment and emptying, and we don't want to say tomorrow: Where was I?

To serve this purpose, we want to organize groups of volunteers in different cities of the country.

So I have a sincere prayer:

Before you start criticizing, "how will you convince people not to leave", etc etc, please consider this an effort in the service of the country and society.
