Poisonous fish caught in Vlora/ Appeal to fishermen and citizens: Touching it could be fatal

This Tuesday, the Para fish, also known as the "Gjyle" fish, one of the most poisonous species of saltwater fish, was caught again in the nets of Vlora fishermen.

In a statement to the media, the Director of the Radhima Fishing Port, Sherif Dyrmishi, called on citizens, but also fishermen, to exercise maximum caution, as even touching this fish can be fatal.

"This is the Para fish, a fish in fishing parlance. It is a very poisonous fish. The second case occurred in the Gulf of Vlora, there was one case, a very small specimen 7 years ago. Professor Rigels Bakiu just confirmed it. This is the second and very large case. Appeal for caution as it is poisonous and touching it. Its toxins can lead to a path of no return, towards death," said Dyrmishi./CNA
