Trial on the merits/ Hearing for Veliaj postponed at the GJKKO

The second hearing on the merits at the Criminal Court of Kosovo against the mayor, Erion Veliaj, and other defendants, with 13 charges for 5 serious criminal offenses, has been postponed.

According to reports, the reason for the postponement of the hearing was the absence of the lawyer for one of the defendants. The next hearing is scheduled for April 1 at 09:00. 

Meanwhile, it was previously reported that the accused and under investigation by the Special Prosecution, Plarent Ndreca, will be the lawyer for the arrested mayor of Tirana, Erion Veliaj.

We recall that today was the second trial session on the merits for the arrested mayor, Erion Veliaj, his wife Ajola Xoxa, as well as the 28 other defendants.

The March 9th hearing was postponed due to Veliaj's schemes, who requested to be familiarized with the investigative acts. For this reason, the hearing decided to send him 61 thousand pages of the investigative file.

Even after this decision, Veliaj has used his schemes and scenarios, with the sole purpose of postponing hearings and continuing to drag out trials.

CNA reported that contrary to what was reported in the media, 61,000 pages of the investigative file were handed over to Veliaj on March 10, materials which the arrested mayor initially refused to accept, clashing with prison officers. /CNA
