The former chief prosecutor of Serious Crimes, Eugen Beçi, has asked to investigate the meetings of Prime Minister Edi Rama with Charles McGonigal, the former senior FBI official who is being tried for corruption in the USA.
Beci said in a TV interview that Rama's meetings with the former FBI agent are unprotocoled and undocumented.
He said that such a meeting is announced before it is held by the American embassy.
"The prosecutor's office must find out how the prime minister had unrecorded and undocumented meetings with a former FBI agent, did the Albanian authorities know about it?" A simple agent when he comes to Albania has certain protocols. The American embassy announces such meetings. All this should be seen how such meetings have been held in the Republic of Albania", emphasized the former prosecutor.
