The former mayor of Vlora, Ermal Dredha, has shared the bitter news of the loss of his father Neki Dredha.
"It is with deep sadness that we announce the passing of our dear father, Doctor Neki Dredha.
The funeral ceremony will take place today, May 29, at 4:00 PM at the cemetery, Sharra.
The departure is from Alba 2000, the former Yugoslav Embassy, ??Durrës Street, Tirana. From the family!”, writes Ermal Dredha.
Who was Neki Dredha?
Neki Dredha was mayor of Vlora from 1998 to 2000, as a representative of the Socialist Party of Albania.
His mandate came immediately after the 1997 riots, when Vlora was considered one of the most problematic cities due to criminal gangs and lack of order.
That period was very difficult for the local administration.
His name has often returned to the media because of his son, Ermal Dredha, who became mayor of Vlora in 2023./ CNA
