Tirana Incinerator in GJKKO/SPAK requests 26 years in prison for the defendants

The GJKKO will make a decision on April 16, at 1:00 PM, for the 8 defendants charged with abuse of office in the Tirana Incinerator case. SPAK has requested a total of 26 years in prison for the defendants.

SPAK's claim seeks prison sentences for the defendants and their ban from exercising public functions.

For Lefter Koka - former Minister of Environment - 4 years in prison with a shortened trial is requested, the sentence is reduced to 2.8 years and 5 years of ban from exercising public functions.

For Bledar Karolin - Member of the commission - 4 years in prison with a shortened trial are requested, the sentence is reduced to 2.8 years and 5 years of ban from public functions.

For Fatjon Murati - member of the commission - 4 years in prison are requested, with a shortened trial, the sentence is reduced to 2.8 years and 5 years of ban from public functions.

For Taulant Tushe - member of the commission - 4 years in prison with a shortened trial are requested, the sentence is reduced to 2.8 years and 5 years of ban from public functions.

For Namik Simixhiu - member of the commission - 4 years in prison with a shortened trial are requested, the sentence is reduced to 2.8 years

For Valbona Ballgjin - Legal Director - 2 years in prison are requested, with a shortened trial, which is converted into probation.

For Sidita Kopliku - member of the commission - 2 years in prison are requested, with a shortened trial, which is converted into probation.

For Jetmir Llapaj - former employee of the Central Bank of Kosovo - 2 years in prison are requested, with a shortened trial, which is converted into probation.

It is learned that in the last session of the first instance trial, this Monday, the defense of the 8 defendants concluded their arguments, who collectively pleaded not guilty and denied the charges./CNA
