Almost two weeks ago, it was difficult to secure a cheap hotel in Saranda for the end of July or August.
Everything started from 60 euros where only accommodation was included, while for Ksamil, the cheapest price was 80 euros a night. Accommodation prices at the beginning of the season increased by 25-30%.
But rising prices appear to have immediately dampened demand, prompting the opposite action. Recently there is a sponsorship campaign on social networks where accommodation structures have become active with offers, in an attempt to regain the points that the destinations were losing from the price increase that occurred during June and early July.
You can already find for the peak of the season, i.e. the rest of July until August 20, hotels in Ksamil that offer "half board" packages (two meals included) for 65-75 euros per person.
This means that in the double room offered for a price of 130 or 150 euros, breakfast and dinner, sunbeds on the beach, parking are provided. Earlier, the problem of sunbeds turned into a topic of discussion as in some of the beaches the prices started from 2,000 Lek to 15,000 Lek (not standard sunbeds).
In Saranda, another hotel offers several prices according to the room category you will get. The offer is from July 26 to August 28 and for a double room the price is 75 euros per person, for a triple room 59 euros/person and for a quadruple room, 49 euros/person. This offer includes accommodation, breakfast, dinner, and parking.
What stands out is that offers of this nature can often be found on Instagram or Facebook and are sponsored by accommodation structures. This flow of posts seems to have increased especially in recent days.
Tourist operators report that the number of visitors in the South of the country, although at a good level, is not within the expectations they had and therefore the number of structures that are reducing prices is increasing day by day.
Moreover, there is a lack of local vacationers who have shown a tendency to book abroad in countries like Greece or Turkey.
Likewise, the Albanian coast is suffering from a lower presence of Kosovo Albanians who, on the one hand, are in smaller numbers as a result of visa liberalization, and on the other hand, it is thought that the increased prices and the weak euro have had the effect of their./ Monitor.al
