Action from Ksamil to Velipoja/ 40 vessels stranded in one week

During this week, from Ksamil to Velipoja, the Border Police has blocked 40 vessels. The blue uniforms indicate that 30 jet skis, 5 speedboats and 5 dinghies are stranded.

Meanwhile, the drivers of 13 vehicles, who were caught navigating within the security perimeter, were fined 100,000 lek administratively, a violation that endangered the lives of vacationers.

Police Notification:

State Police/The "MARITIME SAFETY" operation continues. The Border Police in cooperation with the Maritime Police Unit, within the framework of the "MARITIME SECURITY" operation, have intensified controls along the entire coastline, lake areas, and river areas.

During this week, from Ksamil to Velipoja, the Border Police has blocked 40 vessels.

Blocked vehicles: 30 jet skis, 5 speedboats and 5 dinghies.

26 vessels were blocked from Ksamil to Vlora.

10 vessels are blocked from Durres to Shengjin.

4 vessels were blocked in Velipoja.

13 of the blocked vessels were found by the services of the Border Police and those of the Maritime Police Unit, sailing within the security perimeter, a violation that endangered the lives of vacationers. The drivers of these vehicles were each punished with an administrative measure of 100,000 ALL.

The drivers of 27 other vessels, in addition to the measure of blocking the means, were each punished with an administrative measure of 10,000 ALL for lack of documentation.

Meanwhile, the Maritime Police Unit and the Border Police throughout this week have come to the aid of tourists and visitors, in 12 cases who have asked for help in the maritime space from Ksamil to Velipojë.

- The Border Police appeals to all users of watercraft to strictly follow the rules for the use of watercraft, to be equipped with lifesaving equipment, and to respect the designated areas for navigation with these tools, so that they and other vacationers to be safe and calm.

- At the same time, the Border Police invites vacationers to report any violation of the maritime security perimeter, or of security measures during tourist trips in the lake and river coastal areas, guaranteeing an immediate response. /CNA
