This Thursday, at the 'Andon Zako Çajupi' Theater in Korça, tributes were held for the well-known actor Zhani Ziçishti, who passed away yesterday at the age of 85.

Actor Petrika Riza said that Ziçishti was an artist with a rich spiritual world, talented and with wonderful plasticity, who left his mark both in theater and cinematography, creating unforgettable figures, even in secondary roles.

"It is a great loss for Albanian art. Zhani was an actor with a rich spiritual world, talented, with a wonderful plasticity that has helped him in very beautiful roles both in theater and cinema. Even in non-protagonist and supporting roles, he has created figures that will be long remembered by spectators, not only of Korça, but of all of Albania," said Riza.

Actor Refik Xhinaku also praised his stage individuality and simple, natural interpretation, emphasizing that he will remain unforgettable for the public of Korçë and beyond.

"One of the best actors of the Korça Theater passed away. I had the opportunity to perform in several roles with him. He was known for a very simple, very natural interpretation; he had his own stage individuality. He will remain unforgettable, because he had something on stage that many others lack," said actor Xhinaku.

His professor and friend, Arjan Kallço, remembered Ziçishti not only as an excellent actor, but also as a special friend, with whom he shared many moments and memories from his life and career.

"We lost a special friend, a wonderful actor, an actor of roles that will remain long in our memory and the entire Albanian nation. I had him not only as a friend, but also as a neighbor, so we shared many things with him. I am truly sorry that another icon of our cinematography and theater is leaving this life, as well as for his passion for cars. We met often and discussed; he told the stories of his roles, perhaps even the difficult life he had when he emigrated to Greece," said Kallço.

The tribute was also attended by the Mayor of Korça, Sotiraq Filo, who stated that Ziçishti belonged to a constellation of distinguished artists from Korça who have made valuable contributions to Albanian stage art and film.

"Today we are in the premises of the Korça Theater paying homage to one of the prominent artists of the city of Korça, Zhani Ziçishti, who passed away. Zhani belongs to a constellation of prominent artists from Korça who have given much to the Albanian stage and film. His death is a great loss for his family and friends, but also for all art lovers from Korça and beyond," said Filo.

The mayor of Devoll, Eduard Duro, also offered condolences, describing the actor as part of a family with traditions from the village of Ziçisht in Devoll.
